The German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) is Germany's national accreditation body, which ensures that organizations such as testing, inspection and certification bodies perform their activities competently in accordance with internationally valid standards, legal bases and relevant rules. By extending their flexibility, accredited testing laboratories are now able to include new or adapted test methods in their portfolio within a given framework without having to apply to the relevant accreditation authority for a prior review to adapt or extend their scope of accreditation each time.
The flexibilization of scopes can basically take place in three different categories. The SKZ testing laboratory has flexible accreditation in categories III and I.
In the future, the accreditation categories will be renamed. The previous category III will then be called category A, category I will become category B, and the highest category II will be renamed category C. This new designation is intended to enable a clear and simple assignment of the various accreditation levels. For you as a customer, this will not change the high standards and quality of the test procedures, but it will make it easier for you to find your way around the various accreditation classes.
Test laboratories are permitted to use the standardized test methods listed in the certificate with different issue statuses.
Your advantage: Flexible accreditation in accordance with category III ensures that we work in line with the current state of the art. As a result, we are always guided by the latest standards and are able to quickly and efficiently integrate changes due to updated standard specifications into our processes.
Includes category III and allows test laboratories to freely select standardized or equivalent test methods within a defined test range.
Your advantage: The flexible accreditation according to Category I allows the scope of accreditation to be extended independently, after prior internal validation/verification of the procedure (e.g. analogous national standards such as ASTM, OENORM...). This results in faster response times to individual requirements for accredited test procedures.
By the way: We can offer far more tests than those listed in the partial certificate annexes. You can find an overview of the current scope of accreditation of the SKZ test laboratory in our list of standards
If you require further standardized test methods from the areas of:
