Testing of roofing membranes

Roofing membranes are used in various areas of the construction industry to ensure the waterproofing of roofs and other structures. Here are some of the most common uses of roofing membranes:

Flat roofs: Roofing membranes are often used on flat roofs to protect them from the penetration of rainwater. The membranes are laid to create a waterproof barrier.

Green roofs: In green roofs, roofing membranes are used as a waterproofing layer under the vegetation. They retain water and prevent roots from penetrating the roof structure.

Structure waterproofing: Roofing membranes can also be used in other structures such as bridges, tunnels and parking decks to provide waterproofing and protection.

Material types: Roofing membranes can be made of various materials, including bitumen, plastic and elastomers such as PVC-P, EVA, FPO, TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), EPDM (synthetic rubber) and more. Depending on the project requirements and local conditions, specific types of roofing membranes are selected to ensure optimal sealing and protection.

We provide comprehensive information on various test methods that are relevant for roofing membranes. Membranes play a crucial role in the safety and longevity of roof and building constructions, especially in green roofs. It is therefore important that these membranes undergo rigorous testing to ensure their quality and performance.
