Contract research

Safe to rely.

Do you have a production problem or are high reject rates hindering your production? Are you unsure about material selection or product requirements? Are you looking for a practical solution for determining optimum process or quality parameters?

We offer you comprehensive research and development services in this area: We search for suitable approaches for you, investigate your problem on site, provide you with contacts, carry out suitability tests and much more.

Thanks to our broad and up-to-date overview of the possibilities and potential of plastics technology, we can respond to your individual requirements. This knowledge ranges from industrial methods to new technologies that are still in the development stage or are making the leap into their first practical applications.

Our specialists also support you in the initiation and implementation of funded projects for the further development and adaptation of your products and services to the needs of the plastics processing industry.

  • Testing:
We determine the material, process or product parameters you are interested in.
  • Market analysis and solution search:
We research and evaluate solutions for you, e.g. current metrological processes, specific materials or scientific publications that are relevant to your specific requirements.
  • Feasibility studies:
Through simulations or experimental investigations in our industry-oriented pilot plants, we check whether, for example, a specific measurement or manufacturing concept is suitable for your problem.
  • Process integration:
We support you in the further development of laboratory samples into demonstrators and prototypes as well as integration into your systems or processes

Pre-treatment of bioplastics to extend the shelf life of foodstuffs

The SKZ and the University of Munich are researching the use of industrial surface treatments of bioplastic films for an antimicrobial electret effect, which is intended to delay the spoilage of packaged food and thus extend its shelf life.
