VinylPlus® is the voluntary commitment of the European PVC industry to improve the sustainability of PVC products. The purpose of VinylPlus® is to reduce the environmental impact of PVC and promote the circular economy. The initiative has specific targets in the areas of recycling, energy efficiency, sustainable sourcing of raw materials and social responsibility. To achieve these, the program relies on neutral certification by a product certification body.
The SKZ is available as a notified VinylPlus® certification body for product certification as part of the VinylPlus® Product Label. Auditing is carried out by our qualified and experienced auditors throughout Europe.
1. Achieving sustainability targets
VinylPlus® has clear goals and commitments to promote sustainability in the PVC industry. By achieving certification, you demonstrate that you support these goals as a company and are committed to sustainable practices in relation to PVC production and processing.
2. Increase market acceptance
Sustainability is increasingly becoming an important factor for the market acceptance of products. VinylPlus® certification therefore sends a positive signal to your customers and partners that you are committed to environmentally friendly and socially responsible business practices.
3. Meet environmental standards
VinylPlus® is committed to achieving environmental goals, particularly in the areas of resource efficiency, recycling and reducing emissions. The certification serves as confirmation that your company meets the environmental standards of the industry.
VinylPlus® is the European PVC industry's voluntary sustainability program aimed at promoting the sustainable development of the industry. Founded in 2011, VinylPlus is the successor program to Vinyl 2010 and aims to cover the entire PVC industry value chain and improve its environmental and social impact.
VinylPlus® is jointly supported by the European PVC industry, including the European PVC Manufacturers Association (ECVM), European PVC Additives Producers (ESPA), European PVC Recyclers (EuPC), European PVC rigid film converters (EPFLEX), European PVC flexible film producers (FEPA), and European PVC compounders (EPCA), together with other stakeholders.
The VinylPlus® program has a long-term vision that aims to promote the sustainability of PVC through improved resource efficiency, recycling, social responsibility and the responsible use of PVC products. It is committed to a closed-loop economy and strives to achieve environmental, economic and social sustainability goals.
Further information on the VinylPlus® program
Voluntary certification with the VinylPlus® product label is aimed at manufacturers and planners to produce and label PVC products and solutions for the construction sector that contribute to sustainable development.
The program focuses on maximum transparency - all relevant audit documents are available before the audit. This allows you as a company to carry out a self-assessment in advance and assess how far you are in terms of VinylPlus sustainability targets.
The 2 systems are currently available for the assessment. VinylPlus® Product Label for PVC processors and VinylPlus® Supplier Certificates for manufacturer of compounds and additives.
