is a human right and an elementary component of life!
- The Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) regulates the quality of drinking water in Germany; Section 17 (3) contains requirements for materials/materials that come into contact with drinking water
- Legally binding assessment principles are drawn up by the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA); they contain test programs and material-specific positive lists
- In addition, there is the "Recommendation for Confirmation of Conformity", on the basis of which product manufacturers can have their product quality confirmed by an accredited certification body

Also an issue at European level
In future, there will be harmonization in Europe for products in contact with drinking water.
On 23.04.2024, the European Commission published six 'Implemented' and 'Delegated Acts' in which the testing, monitoring and certification of products in contact with drinking water is regulated.

Confirmation of conformity of drinking water hygiene suitability

Initial inspection of the factory and evaluation of the factory production control as well as sampling of test specimens by a recognized inspection body - [4] Performance of the hygiene tests
Confirmation of conformity on the basis of a type test. Checking the basic requirements, including requirements for the odor threshold value, turbidity and coloration and migration as well as the requirements regarding the promotion of microbial growth. - [5] Hygiene certification
Issuance of a certificate that the requirements for hygienic suitability have been met. - [6] Annual monitoring with sampling
