Compounding & Extrusion

The properties of plastics can be adapted to subsequent applications by admixing additives such as fillers or additives in a compounding process. The prepared plastic granules can then be further processed into pipes and profiles, for example, by extrusion. Both processes are usually carried out on extruders. Our courses highlight the process sequences as well as the different machine concepts in different levels.

E-Learning: Compounding Basics

The "Compounding Basics" course explains to the participant in e-learning format how plastics can be modified with the help of compounding. It starts by explaining what compounding actually is and what it is used for. Furthermore, the requirements for a compounding plant are discussed and the different types of construction are highlighted. With this knowledge, the exemplary process in a compounding extruder is presented. The e-learning course offers interactive functions that make learning more effective and engaging. Learners can apply their knowledge directly and also receive immediate feedback. Compared to traditional training, e-learning courses are generally more cost-effective. There are no travel or accommodation costs and the training content can be delivered online, eliminating printing and distribution costs. E-Learning: Basics of machine technology in extrusion

Extrusion is a manufacturing process used to produce products with a fixed cross-sectional profile. Plastic is forced through a nozzle that forms it into a specific shape and size. The extrusion process is often used to make plastic pipes, hoses and films, as well as food products. In this e-learning course you will learn about the basic machine units of an extrusion line. You will learn interactively and clearly what happens in the plasticising cylinder, which extruder screws there are and which components are important in the extrusion downstream.
