Testing of plastic products for green roofs

Would you like to have elements for green roofs tested or certified?

In view of the need to adapt to climate change and increasingly frequent heavy rainfall events, as well as the decline in biodiversity, green roofs are increasingly being called for in construction plans and promoted in existing buildings. At the same time, planners and building owners are concerned about the safety of such green roofs. The use of tested and certified products provides security here.

Geosynthetics, films and membranes - all of these products are generally large-area and have a low thickness ranging from a few micrometers to a few millimeters. They can consist of several layers, be coated, structured or studded.

We have decades of experience with the removal of test specimens and a wide range of test methods for these products. From the characterization of mechanical, hydraulic and physical properties to chemical resistance in media, weather resistance, oxygen or water vapour permeability, water tightness and root resistance, we offer tests from our extensive portfolio of tests.

Rooting test
according to the FLL method

Green roofs are becoming increasingly attractive as green oases and habitats for many species. However, plant growth poses a particular challenge for roof waterproofing. Only root-resistant waterproofing membranes and coatings can prevent moisture from penetrating the structure.
