Whether raw material, recycled material or test specimens - our test laboratory analyzes the properties of your materials

Plastics are used in numerous industries, not least because of their specific material properties, which in some cases exceed those of other materials. Safety aspects often also play a major role here. A prerequisite for safe and high-quality products is knowledge of the actual material properties of the plastics used. These material properties are analyzed and determined as part of plastics testing.

Our specially developed material analysis, Data Sheet Process (DSPro), offers you comprehensive support in determining decisive characteristic values for your plastics. We can test granulates, multipurpose test specimens in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3167 and sheets for you, regardless of their subsequent areas of use or applications. Whether comparability tests or the creation of data sheets – DSPro@SKZ optimizes the entire process to provide you with cost-efficient results. You can rely on our expertise and state-of-the-art technologies.

Numerous test methods are used in our test laboratory to carry out a material analysis. Whether mechanical, rheological or thermal tests – our experts determine the relevant material parameters and thus provide an important assessment criterion for safe use in the subsequent component.

Regardless of whether it is a raw material or a recyclate, we test the following materials for you as part of our DSPro@skz material analysis:

Test methods

The following methods are used for the material analysis of plastics:

  • Density determination according to DIN EN ISO 1183-1
  • Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) according to DIN EN ISO 11357-2 / -3
  • Oxidation induction time (OIT) according to DIN EN ISO 11357-6
  • Melt flow rate (MFR) according to DIN EN ISO 1133-1
  • Tensile test to DIN EN ISO 527-2 (stress/strain) incl. modulus of elasticity
  • Bending test according to DIN EN ISO 178
  • Charpy impact and notched impact strength to DIN EN ISO 179-1
  • Residue on ignition DIN EN ISO 3451-1
  • All standard test methods for plastics

Material analysis process

Whether granulate, recyclate or test specimens – we can analyze any sample in our test laboratory as part of our plastics testing. You can choose whether to send us the required specimens or whether we should support you in preparing the specimens. If required, we work together with renowned and experienced partner companies.
