The Plastics Center SKZ invited customers to an exchange of experiences in management systems on October 10, 2024 in Würzburg. More than 80 participants attended to learn about topics such as digitalization, AI, additive manufacturing, and sustainability. However, the new ISO 9001 and energy legislation were also on the agenda

Themed “FIT4FUTURE”, the Customer Day and exchange of experiences of the management systems of the SKZ Certification division took place in the SKZ model factory. The participants were not only treated to interesting and varied lectures, but a tour of the various SKZ technology areas was also on the program. A special highlight of the day was the honoring of long-standing certified customers. SKZ managing director Robert Schmitt honored 20 customers for 20 years and 25 years of certified management systems. The representatives of the honored companies each received a trophy at the end – a gesture that was very well received. “I am happy and grateful that I was able to honor our loyal and reliable customers today,” said Robert Schmitt. In today's turbulent and troubled times, it is all the more important to be able to rely on people.
SKZ as a “strong partner”
In his welcoming speech, SKZ Chairman Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Bastian emphasized how important it is ‘for all of us to get out of our comfort zones’. Because progress is rapid. And both progress and change are never without risk. “We don't have to be pioneers, but we have to be willing to embrace change,” said Bastian. However, this can only be achieved together. The SKZ is happy to be a “strong partner” in this process.
The importance of networks
For this reason, there were plenty of opportunities for participants to network: the day ended with a Franconian buffet in the evening. “Making contacts is a very important aspect, because networked customers are strong customers,” said Schmitt. “In the best case, networking will boost our industry with the help of AI and additive manufacturing. I am therefore very much looking forward to the next few years of successful partnership.”
