Quality control during production is an important tool for determining whether the manufactured product meets the requirements or whether the production parameters need to be adjusted. The closer quality control is to the process, the faster deviations can be detected and corrected. The resulting savings in resources and energy lead to a more climate-friendly product and more satisfied customers.

These were the reasons behind ESN - Deutsche Tischtennis Technologie GmbH's decision to integrate a non-destructive testing method into its quality control process. Together with the expertise of the SKZ in the field of plastics and non-destructive testing, a measurement setup was developed that can be integrated into the production process and analyzes the products quickly and effectively. To this end, findings from successfully completed research projects on the non-destructive testing of foamed plastics were transferred directly into industrial applications.

This shows once again the great importance of publicly funded research projects, without which such a development would not have been possible.

Klaus Lutter from ESN emphasizes: “We are very pleased about the precise and fast measuring method that we now have in-house and about the excellent cooperation with the SKZ. Quality control in production is a decisive factor for our success.”
