Following last year's expansion of its welding training capacity with new classrooms in Kirchseeon in southern Bavaria, SKZ has now successfully held its second course for PE-HD welders in accordance with DVGW Code of Practice GW 330. "Our customers are already taking advantage of the shorter distances to the SKZ as well as the high standards and accustomed quality of the training and continuing education immediately after moving into the new premises at the vocational training center (BBW) in Kirchseeon in southern Bavaria," explains Eduard Kraus, Division Manager Joining and Surface Technology. "The premises, which were first used in 2022, were immediately well received by the industry. The repetition courses were filled with up to 12 registrations in the southern German region," Kraus continues.
Further training courses for plastic welders are already offered at the SKZ locations in Würzburg, Peine, Halle and Horb and account for a large proportion of the more than 10,000 participants in the institute's adult education program each year. Since October 2022, the courses, in particular the basic course and the renewal examination according to DVGW Code of Practice GW 330, have also been offered in Kirchseeon. Customers from southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland in particular will benefit from this new offering in the Munich area.
"As a pioneer in the plastics industry, we are breaking new ground together with the industry in southern Bavaria," emphasizes Matthias Ruff, Sales Manager Education & Research. In 2022, the SKZ could also move into additional premises in Norderstedt near Hamburg, which would also be available for welding and joining courses.
