A blown film extrusion line is added to the technical equipment at SKZ. This will enable practical training in blown film extrusion in the future. The machine will also be available as a sample line for quality management and quality assurance training.

The new blown film extrusion line from Collin Lab & Pilot Solutions is located in the Technical Center of the Training Center Quality (TZQ). Here, participants are prepared for new tasks or trained for current applications in a realistic production environment and situation. The system is equipped with three high-performance extruders for three different materials, for example. The die head is a 5-layer die head that can also be operated as a 3-layer die head. The maximum layflat width of the line is 600 mm. The line can be operated with different material systems and film thicknesses from approx. 50-250 µm.
The new equipment also allows for specific training in blown film extrusion. In the future, SKZ will offer several courses with different entry levels. There will be courses for experienced machine operators, where detailed technical knowledge will be imparted, as well as courses for career changers, who will learn the process and plastics processing from the ground up. The new courses will be available as early as the second half of 2023.
"We are very pleased to be able to add blown film extrusion to our training portfolio. Unfortunately, we did not have the equipment available at SKZ until now. From a didactic point of view, the practical part of the courses for machine operators is enormously important. Thanks to the new Collin blown film line, we can now offer courses in the usual SKZ quality," explains Andreas Büttner, Group Manager Training Material Development, Compounding and Extrusion.
In the new Training Center Quality (TZQ) and its excellently equipped laboratories, participants have been receiving practical and industry-oriented training in the areas of quality assurance and quality management since the middle of the year.
