Companies in Bavaria are getting fit for the future together with their employees. Despite many crises, the willingness to participate in continuing education is increasing, both among companies and employees. The SKZ is responding to this demand.

The Corona pandemic, the shortage of skilled workers and the great uncertainty of today between inflation, gas and electricity crises bring many difficulties for the Bavarian companies. Despite this, the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) has been able to show that in 2021 more employees have participated in continuing education. In addition, a larger number of Bavarian companies have created the opportunity for further training in the first place than in 2020.
In the representative annual company survey of companies of all sizes, the IAB was able to determine that the continuing education company quota in 2021 increased by three percent compared to the previous year (from 30 % to 33 %). In the format of continuing education, almost twice as many companies (28%) as in the previous year (15%) relied on digital offerings.
The SKZ sees this upward trend and is expanding the existing options in 2023. A broader educational portfolio with new courses, various digital formats and the new buildings at Friedrich-Bergius-Ring in Würzburg address the increased demand.
A quote from Bavaria's Minister of Labor Ulrike Scharf makes it clear: "The increasing willingness to continue training in Bavarian companies is a strong signal. Our companies are embracing the opportunity of Working World 4.0 and are getting fit for the future together with their employees. Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers, every employee in the companies must be encouraged!"
