The SKZ Plastics Center in Würzburg has been training specialists in plastics welding for more than half a century. Further training in accordance with German standards is also in demand abroad - the institute cooperates with the Wegener company to offer training courses on the other side of the Atlantic.

The SKZ Plastics Center has many years of experience in training plastics welders. This is strictly regulated within Germany and anchored in various standards. This guarantees the safety of the infrastructure and high-quality piping systems. Quality "Made in Germany" - this is still a top seller. Many may initially think of products - but training from Germany is also in demand. For example, the SKZ Plastics Center, in cooperation with the Wegener company, has been providing training for plastics welders in accordance with German standard DVS2281/82 in Burr Ridge near Chicago in the USA for 22 years.
Training courses planned in Spanish
"The training courses are now so popular that we have to offer three dates a year to meet demand," says Andreas Grzeskowiak, SKZ site manager in Peine.
This means that the SKZ has an instructor on site for several weeks at the premises of Wegener, which also provides the machine technology, in order to provide the specialists with high-quality training. "We are pleased about the good cooperation with Wegener and the great interest in the training program. In the near future, we also want to offer training in Spanish in the USA," says Grzeskowiak.
SKZ employees are deployed worldwide
The SKZ is gradually expanding its international activities. In addition to the USA, welders in other European countries and the United Arab Emirates are also being trained in accordance with German regulations. SKZ employees are also deployed worldwide in the fields of extrusion and injection molding or in research services.
