At the beginning of the year, Dr. Andreas Köppel took over as head of the Materials Development Group at the SKZ Plastics Center. The Würzburg-based institute has thus found a successor from within its own ranks.

Andreas Köppel has been head of the Materials Development research group at SKZ since January 1, 2024. The position had been vacant for about a year. After Dr. Johannes Rudloff took over the group on an interim basis as Head of Materials, Compounding and Extrusion, SKZ has now found the right person from within its own ranks. Köppel, who also heads the Crosslinked Materials research group, will officially succeed Dr. Michael Bosse.
SKZ "will continue to be available as a qualified contact partner"
"We are pleased to be able to fill this group, which is of course of enormous importance for a plastics institute, so well. In this way, we can continue to promote current materials topics and support our members, customers and partners as a qualified contact for the development of plastic formulations," says Johannes Rudloff. The Materials Development Group is involved in industry-related research and development in the field of plastics, biopolymers and related additives. The institute offers a range of services for industrial companies, including materials research, sample production, formulation development, measurement and testing technology, and comprehensive consulting services.
"A good team of experienced professionals"
"I am looking forward to working with my colleagues in my new role and I want to continue and expand the positive development of the group. I am already familiar with SKZ and its employees, so I know that in my new role I will have a good team of experienced specialists around me, with whom we will be happy to support all inquiries related to polymer materials," adds Andreas Köppel.
