Project: Goal climate protection
Transformation concept at company level towards climate neutrality
Against the backdrop of the existing climate crisis, legal and regulatory developments are increasingly aiming to ensure that the industrial sector must also minimize its greenhouse gas emissions. The Climate Protection Act aims to make Germany climate-neutral by 2045 at the latest. This clear and ambitious target must also be met by all manufacturing companies. This means that the conventional energy-intensive plastics processing industry is also on the brink of change. We can work with you to develop a possible path to climate neutrality and the first steps towards this! This includes the analysis of the current situation, the definition of climate targets and the recommendation for target-oriented implementation.

Participation in this project is eligible for funding. In accordance with the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER), up to 60% of the eligible costs in BAFA Module 5 "Transformation concepts" can be funded.
Duration: 9 – 12 month

Content and goal
Project goal
Development of an individual concept and implementation of the first steps towards a climate-neutral company in the manufacturing plastics industry. Hence a current carbon footprint is recorded at company level, which includes direct and indirect emissions from energy procurement (Scope 1 and 2). Optionally, emissions from the upstream and downstream chain can also be included (Scope 3).
Following an analysis of the initial situation, a greenhouse gas reduction target scenario is developed for your company based on the national greenhouse gas reduction targets. Concrete descriptions of measures for achieving the targets and initial steps for implementation in plastics-producing companies round off the enabler project.
Project content
- CO2 balance according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for a company location (Scope 1 and 2, optionally Scope 3)
- Allocation of emissions to facilities and processes and identification of influencing factors
- Assignment of reduction targets as basis for a target-oriented climate management
- Specific description of an action plan for the absolute reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
