Project: Finding the optimum non-destructive testing method
We unite system manufacturers and companies in the plastics industry.
Manufacturers of testing systems and production companies from various sectors are participating in the non-destructive testing (NDT) enabler project with the aim of finding the most suitable testing method for each application. As a system manufacturer, you benefit from, among other things, the contacts of new interested parties, the acquisition of new customers and the development of new fields of application.

Project goal
The plastics processing industry and its downstream industries represent an enormous market volume for non-destructive testing methods that has yet to be tapped. In Germany alone, there are over 4000 companies that are primarily dedicated to the direct processing of plastics. In many cases, non-destructive testing methods are not yet established there. However, due to increasing quality awareness and the trend towards digitalization and the collection of process data, interest in NDT methods is growing significantly. However, there is often a lack of suitable networking between the system providers and the existing inspection tasks.

Participation in the NDT enabler project opens up the following opportunities for you:
- Neutral expertise and contact to users
- Contact mediation to task setters for subsequent implementation (if desired by the task setter)
- Publication rights for our own investigations on the components provided by us in anonymized form (if not refused by the client)
- Systematic preparation (e.g. matrix presentation) and benchmarking of the results of the various tasks and the different NDT methods of the participants
- Classification of the suitability of your procedure in comparison to the competitors
Procedure
- Acquisition of concrete and real existing tasks for NDT processes from industry
- Pre-selection of suitable NDT processes based on the task definition
- Sending the tasks and components to be tested (anonymized) to the participating system manufacturers
- Performance of the NDT by the system manufacturers and SKZ
- Forwarding of all results to SKZ
- Evaluation and comparison with other NDT procedures
- Forwarding of the results to the task setters and, on request, forwarding of contact details
We always ensure that the data is treated confidentially. As a participant, you receive a complete insight into your own results, while the results of the reference tests of other participants are compared anonymously. This allows you to assess the performance of your procedure and at the same time ensures that your data is treated confidentially towards third parties.
